New Smart Track GO Stations
The City, Metrolinx, and TTC are working together to bring more transit to communities across the City. In Toronto vehicles generate about one-third of the greenhouse gas emissions. Providing commuters with more opportunities to take mass-transit is one way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. With the goal of moving residents, reducing gridlock and advancing city building opportunities, SmartTrack is a regional plan to provide connections between Mississauga Airport Corporate Centre in the west and Markham (Unionville) in the east, through downtown Toronto’s Union Station. City Council recently approved 6 SmartjTrack stations, including one at St. Clair-Old Weston, which could be built as early as 2024. SmartTrack will also intersect with 2 Metrolinx Regional Express Rail stations, including Bloor-Lansdowne.
